The Nexus 7 tablet is selling at a rapid pace, with sales reaching a million per month. Google and Asus have been very secretive in releasing exact sales figures, but that didn’t stop a make of the product to leak the news.
“At the beginning, it was, for instance, 500K units a month, then maybe 600, 700K. This latest month, it was close to 1 million,” Asustek Chief Financial Officer David Chang told the Wall Street Journal.
Earlier in the month, sites were reporting that the Nexus 7 had a sales estimate of 800,00-1 million according to an analysis of Google’s revenue figures. Asus said that the sales were actually higher than that, but wouldn’t release the info. The Nexus 7 began shipping in July 2012 and was met with high demand from the start. The device is a 7-inch, Android Jelly Bean tablet with a 1280×800 pixel display and a quad-core processor.
